Job Summary
As the Revenue and Budget Manager, you will help manage the money that comes into the agency and how it is spent. Your job will be to create budgets, find ways to earn more money for our services, and make sure we are using our funds wisely. You will work with different teams to keep everything running smoothly and make sure we can help those in need.
Responsibilities
In this job, you will have many important tasks, including:
- Managing Budgets: You will create and keep track of the agency’s budget each year. You will make sure we are spending money wisely and suggest changes if needed.
- Finding Money: You will look for ways to earn more money, like applying for grants or working with partners. You will study how much money we make and help plan for the future.
- Reporting Finances: You will prepare reports about our money to share with management and other important people. This will help everyone understand how we are doing financially.
- Working with Teams: You will work closely with other departments to help them with their budgets. You will also help them write proposals for funding.
- Creating Policies: You will help write rules about how we handle money to make sure we are doing things the right way.
- Training Staff: You will teach other staff members about budgets and financial matters. This will help everyone understand how to manage money better.
- Preparing for Audits: You will help prepare for audits and answer questions from auditors to ensure we are following all the rules.
Qualifications
To do well in this job, you should have these skills:

- Good with Numbers: You should be able to understand and analyze financial information easily.
- Clear Communication: You need to be able to explain financial information to others in a simple way.
- Attention to Detail: You must pay close attention to details to make sure all financial reports are accurate.
- Problem Solver: You should be able to find solutions when challenges arise.
- Team Player: You need to work well with others and help create a positive environment.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Software: It would be great if you know how to use budgeting and accounting software, like Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding Government Finance: Having some knowledge about how public sector finances work will be a plus.
- Leadership Experience: If you have experience leading a team, that will be helpful.
Education and Experience
To qualify for this job, you should have:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: You need at least five years of experience in financial management and budgeting, especially in public service or non-profit work.
